Burst Mode vs. Custom Extraction
The tool offers two distinct processing architectures. Custom Extraction allows you to type specific page ranges (e.g., "Pages 5-10"). The engine will slice out those 6 pages and staple them together into a single, new PDF file.
Burst Mode (Split All) is a destructive process. It takes a 50-page PDF and shatters it into 50 individual, 1-page PDF files, instantly downloading them inside a ZIP folder. This is incredibly useful for processing massive batches of scanned invoices or individual employee tax forms that were accidentally scanned as one giant, continuous document by the office copier.
Preserving Quality and Metadata
Unlike simply taking a screenshot of a PDF page, this tool executes a true binary extraction. It physically lifts the vector text, the embedded fonts, and the high-resolution images out of the original file architecture.
This means the newly extracted 1-page PDF retains 100% of the crystal-clear, infinite-scaling quality of the original document. Furthermore, it cleanly severs the internal bookmark linking, ensuring that your new, smaller file doesn't contain broken navigation links pointing to pages that no longer exist. How to Split Your Document
Drag and drop your massive PDF into the upload zone. The tool will parse the document and generate a visual thumbnail grid showing every single page in the file.
You can either type your desired page ranges into the text box (e.g., `1, 4-7, 12`) or simply click on the visual thumbnails you want to extract. Why did the file size of my extracted page stay so large?
If the original PDF was a massive, high-resolution scanned image of a book, the engine cannot compress it. It extracts the raw image data. A single page of a high-resolution scan can easily be 5MB on its own, so extracting 10 pages will result in a 50MB file.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
No. The extraction engine cannot read the internal structure of an AES-encrypted file. You must first decrypt the file using our Unlock PDF tool (which requires you to know the password) before you can extract the pages.
Does extracting a page ruin the digital signature?
Yes, absolutely. A digital signature or cryptographic certificate mathematically seals the entire document to prove it has not been tampered with. The moment you extract a page, you alter the binary structure of the file, instantly invalidating the signature.
