What is HEIC / HEIF?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format used on iPhones and iPads since iOS 11. It compresses photos to roughly half the size of a JPEG at the same quality — but many apps, websites, and Windows systems can't open HEIC files natively.
JPG vs PNG Output
- JPG: Smaller file size, best for photos and sharing. Slight lossy compression.
- PNG: Lossless, best for screenshots, graphics, or when you need pixel-perfect accuracy.
